- CANNED FOOD DRIVE AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARIES! Tying in with the book THE HUNGER GAMES, the public libraries of Cleveland County are seeking non-perishable food to combat hunger in Cleveland County. While this food drive will not erase fines for library patrons, it will make citizens who are struggling with the economy have a little easier time. The Main Library in Shelby will give all the donated food to the Neal Senior Center, Spangler Branch Library will give their food to the Bliss Center in Lawndale and Mauney Memorial Library will donate their food to the Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry. Please bring a non-perishable food item with you the next time you visit a library.
